Long Island Hot Water Conventional Heater System |
There are three types of conventional hot water heater systems heating domestic hot water in Long Island homes, businesses and Long Island commercial buildings. The first type of conventional fired heater is the stand alone hot water storage tank (this conventional system runs independent of the boiler/furnace space heating system and, obviously, stores hot water). The second type conventional fired is the indirect hot water heater (this conventional system heats hot water in a secondary coil in the space heating boiler/furnace). The third conventional fired is the on demand hot water heater (this conventional hot water heater runs independent to the boiler/furnace space heating system, doesn't store hot water, and fires when the demand for hot water is in use). All three conventional hot water heaters have one factor in common; they all utilize a conventional utility to heat water, either by oil, gas, propane, or electricity. In fact, all three conventional systems require additional energy to ignite the fuel, obviously not when utilizing electricity, this utility just wears out your LIPA utility meter. All three conventional hot water heaters have another factor in common. They all have aqua stats in their hot water heater systems that regulates the temperature of the water in the system, whether it's the storage tank system, the indirect boiler coil system, or the on demand system. The bad news is many of these aqua stats in our Long Island homes are set at temperatures over 120 degrees Fahrenheit, some set as high as 180 degrees; this is an awful waste of conventional energy and very expensive to the consumer. The good news is that these aqua stats have temperature settings and can be set at 120 degrees Fahrenheit, all that is needed to take a bath and shower, adjusting your temperature comfort level with cold water at the faucet. When the IP-195 generates and sends down solar heated water higher than 120 degrees, as high as 212 degrees Fahrenheit and even higher, that's OK, the incorporated cold water mixing valve after the conventional heater will conserve your hot water, and remember, that's what we're all about, efficiency. |

Solar Evacuated Tube Thermal Technology |
The GSE Series solar collector evacuated tubes collect and convert the sun's radiation energy into thermal energy, which is transferred to the central copper heat pipes in the tubes through the aluminum fins bridging the tube inner surfaces and the heat pipes. The copper heat pipes have a tiny amount of purified water sealed in them at depressurized condition. When heated, the water inside the heat pipes vaporizes at low temperature (about 30˚C). The vapor (steam) rises to the pipe tips inserted into the domestic city or well water contained in the tank. Vapor is cooled down and becomes condensate falling to the bottom of the pipes. By continuously circulating this way, heat is carried from outside to the water inside the tank. The copper heat pipes are insulated by a vacuum in the tubes thereby making atmospheric temperature irrelevant to heating by the sun's irradiation. The performance to the evacuated tube technology is regulated by the insolation level the sun's radiation is hitting the earth in a particular month in Long Island and New York City. The copper heat pipes reach temperatures as high as 460 degrees Fahrenheit in LI and NYC. Each evacuated tube works independently of each other. Should one evacuated tube need to be replaced, the other 23 tubes are working generating domestic hot water. Replacement of one tube takes about 2 minutes, not more difficult than changing a light bulb. The GSE Series collector evacuated tubes have a 10 year warrantee and a lifespan of over 25 years. That's over 25 years making money on your investment. The GSE Series collector evacuated tube systems have been working across Canada for the past 12 years and across China over the last 25 years. Now they are here in Long Island and New York City, it's about time. Just in time, utility costs are on the rise again. The GSE Series collector evacuated tube is the highest, most powerful technology in the world in solar thermal energy for domestic hot water production in residential homes, pools, business, and commercial buildings; the GSE Series collector systems is the most cost effective and highest return on any solar investment to purchase and install in these applications to generate domestic hot water. |

Long Island Passive Solar Hot Water Heater System |
Regardless of which conventional existing hot water heater is present or what utility to operate the system is used makes no difference when the GSE Series IP-195 Solar Hot Water Heater is incorporated into the conventional hot water heater system. The conventional hot water heater becomes the back up hot water heater in the system in the winter months when the insolation levels to the sun's irradiation is at it's weaker levels. During these winter months one IP collector is generating hot water and hot water costs a lot less to heat with conventional energy than cold water. The conventional back up hot water heater in the system is turned off in the months with the higher insolation levels. It's a beautiful thing when the conventional utility does not fire; we think you'll think so too! We know your hard earned money will think so because from the first day of the investment that money will be making money for the next twenty five years or longer every day the sun comes up, rain or shine in summer, fall, winter, and spring.
