Commercial Solar Hot Water Heater System Application Long Island and New York City

The GSE Series IP-195 Solar Thermal Collector Domestic Hot Water Passive Heater System for commercial Applications in Long Island and New York City: the diagram depicts the IP collectors installed in series for larger commercial applications. For example, a large apartment building containing 200 apartments may have a city water main feed pipe of 2 inches connecting to the conventional hot water heater. The city water main entering the facility is by passed the conventional water heater and directed to the feed manifold to the collectors where it enters the manifold with a two inch connector. The exit side to that manifold will contain three 3/4 exit ports each leading to one series of collectors. Between the feed manifold and the return manifold the collectors are connected with 3/4 inch pex pipe that lead to the return manifold through three 3/4 inch port. The water solar heated water exits the return manifold out one 2 inch port leading and connecting to the conventional hot water heater where the city water feed connected before the solar application.

Solar commercial applications with less energy consumption where the city water main feed pipe is 3/4 inch, the manifolds are not necessary. If more than one collector is need the collectors will run in a series to the number of collectors needed to meet the energy demand.
